Woodville garden and surrounding countryside

Hilary and Peter are both keen gardeners they have approx ¾ acre which consists of the front area totally for their guests the back area part guests the rest being laid out in informal borders and lawn with a small orchard fruit tree then to the side of the bungalow is a large wild area that is slowly being tamed with small vegetable plots set amongst newly planted trees and shrubs. Each year in June Hilary and Peter have an open day planned for the 20th June next year its quite an event with craft tombola plant stalls and refreshments. All proceeds go to the local Hospice last year the couple raised £1.200.

The garden attacks varied wild life there are many bird species which are fed but the couple also try to ensure that the garden plants feed the birds for instance peter grows sunflowers the birds love the seeds in the wild garden they grow teasel and attack a huge amount of gold finches. There are buzzards woodpeckers bull finches to name but a few.

In the wild garden we have a family of pheasants who stroll around enjoying the safety of the area.

There are foxes badgers squirrels the badgers like to dig for worms in the wild garden.

In the surrounding fields there are a number of horses our guests enjoy the little Shetland Starbuck who lives in the field close by to our front gate.
